ONE PARK:

We acknowledge the Gadigal people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which Barangaroo sits today. We recognize their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present, and emerging.

We believe in the Harbour Park as a continuation of the existing Reserve in scale, materials, and the unique collection of native plants from the Sydney area. The park character should gently transition from the naturalistic Reserve to a more civic connection to Barangaroo South, multiplying the power and presence of the total park.

We have reduced above-grade architecture to allow a natural park and to retain harbour views.  We feel that the continuous waterfront views should be retained from Barangaroo Avenue across the plaza to the harbour and enhanced by the midden mound with views back to the Reserve and in all directions from north to south.

Aerial perspective looking north, showing Barangaroo Central, seen here as one continuous park with Barangaroo Reserve beyond. The existing Foreshore Promenade, ‘Wulugual Walk,’ is seen along the harbour edge to the left.

We believe that the investment of ‘Wulugul Walk’, an element of the Reserve competition should be retained as constructed today to provide a continuous civic means of linking Barangaroo Reserve to the Central Barangaroo and south to the South Promenade and Ferry Terminal.
